Dare to Dance in Public Film Festival

On October 15, 2022, Dare to Dance in Public Film Festival (D2D): Round 5 will take place live and
in person at The New Glorya Kaufman Performing Arts Center @ Vista Del Mar. Three programs of
International Dance Shorts will be open for attendance by the general public. The event will also include
an original, live, site-specific performance by Roxanne Steinberg & Oguri on the theater grounds.
This year DARE TO DANCE IN PUBLIC FILM FESTIVAL Round 5’s Program includes:
1) A selection of rare and remarkable dance films from China, 2) A selection of International Films,
and 3) The Official D2D Winners & Honorably Mentioned Films. Each program is ticketed separately
and runs approximately 90 minutes or a festival pass can be purchased for the day.
Founded in 2015 by Choreographer/Director Sarah Elgart, Dare to Dance in Public Film Festival is more than a dance film festival – D2D is a call to action. We inspire dancers & filmmakers world-
wide to explore both space & place with dance & film, using the singular art of Screen Dance to share human stories. We at D2D challenge people to question what dance is and where dance should take
place… which in our opinion is everywhere.

Joining D2D Founder/Director Sarah Elgart & Creative Producer Zoe Rappaport , the Judges for this year included Stephen Galloway – Go-To Creative Movement Director for the world’s most progres-
sive brands, Louise Lecavalier – Award winning Dancer/Choreographer and Former Muse for La, La, La Human Steps.
