The Dancing Brain – Online Course
February 13, 2023 - May 7, 2023
Have you ever wondered about the science behind WHY we love dance so much? NDEO’s online dance education course, “OPDI-123: The Dancing Brain” examines the mind in action as it orchestrates skilled movement and how it understands the kinesthetic, symbolic language of dance. Kinesthetic understanding about how the brain functions while dancers create, perform, or teach dance will help expand and clarify your comprehension about how audiences perceive movement, how choreographers develop ideas, and how students learn dance. EVERYONE who wants to know why we love dance should take this course. National Dance Education Organization’s (NDEO) OPDI program offers online dance education courses for dance teachers who are seeking professional development. Courses are appropriate for those teaching in all environments. Our “online” dance education courses are guided by a professor and include a cohort of students (typically other dance teachers) with whom you will collaborate. LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE – Registration Deadline 2/9 Tuition: $520 NDEO member / $595 non-member. More info at ndeo.org/opdi123 or email opdi@ndeo.org
