A.I.M by Kyle Abraham is widely recognized as one of the most consistently excellent troupes in the field today. The movement vernacular is a captivating fusion that seamlessly blends modern, contemporary, ballet, and hip-hop. On April 6. A.I.M returns to The Purchase PAC with a dynamic mixed repertory program, sharing work by Artistic Director Kyle Abraham alongside two world premieres: Rena Butler’s “Shell of a Shell of the Shell” reimagines and abstracts the narrative of the monolithic, titular character “King Kong,” while Keerati Jinakunwhiphat’s “Someday Soon” creates time and space to pair mourning and celebration while panning through scenes of platonic intimacy, ambivalence, and trusting that what is for you. Kyle Abraham’s “MotorRover,” a stunning work performed in silence, was created by Abraham in conversation with Merce Cunningham’s 1972 “Landrover.” The Purchase PAC is located on the campus of Purchase College, SUNY, just 30 miles north of NYC in Westchester County, NY.
