Each year, the Dance Teacher Awards shine a spotlight on outstanding educators whose dedication leaves a lasting imprint on their students and communities. Join us in honoring excellence in dance education as we celebrate teachers who not only inspire artistic and personal growth, but also introduce innovative teaching methods, cultivate inclusive and body-positive spaces, and prioritize the physical and mental well-being of every dancer.
The 2025 award recipients are:
Lori Belilove, artistic director of the Isadora Duncan Dance Company, recognized for her passionate stewardship of Duncan’s technique and enduring legacy.
Roger Montoya, co-founder and creative director of Moving Arts Española, whose creative-arts programs and mentorship are transforming lives in rural New Mexico.
Dianne Walker, affectionately known as Aunt Dianne, who has guided and inspired some of the brightest stars in the tap dance world.
Sylvia Waters, artistic director emerita of Ailey II, who, throughout her decades-long career with the Ailey organization, has played a pivotal role in launching the careers of countless dancers.
