Differential Cohomology; Dance of the Diagram – An Evening of Math and Dance

April 29, 2022 @ 7:15 pm

An Evening of Math & Dance: Differential Cohomology; Dance of the Diagram, presented by NYC contemporary dance company Barkin/Selissen Project, manifests mathematical theory in movement and form, letting choreography light the way to a greater understanding of the space and structure around us – for the mathematically inclined and challenged alike. Followed by a panel discussion featuring notable mathematicians and choreographers collaborating in, and across, fields. Moderated by Heather Berlin both nights, and with special guests Ira Flatow on Friday 4/29 and Christine Jowers on Saturday 4/30, this lively conversation includes panelists such as Jim Simons, as well as Barkin/Selissen Project Artistic Directors Aaron Selissen and Kyla Barkin. Made possible, in part, by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the LMCC and the DCLA.
